Ms. Helena Veico serves as the Secretary to the Board of the Diamond Board of Namibia (DIBONA), where she plays a crucial role in facilitating effective corporate governance and ensuring the smooth coordination of the Board’s operational activities.

In her capacity as Secretary to the Board, Ms. Veico is responsible for planning and coordinating Board meetings, which include preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions. She also oversees operational functions while ensuring compliance with the prescribed legislative frameworks such as Diamond Act, 1999,  the Public Enterprises, Governance Act, 2019 as well as the Public Procurement Act, 2015 as amended. Additionally, her role involves financial management and reporting, efficient day-to-day administration, and maintaining clear communication with Board members and other stakeholders. She ensures the efficient execution of the annual budget and actively supports the implementation and monitoring of the Diamond Board’s Strategic Plan.

Ms. Veico is a chartered public relations practitioner whose expertise spans both the public and private sectors, where she has accumulated extensive experience in administration, marketing, and public relations roles. She holds an Honours and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Southern Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce from Stadio, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Namibia. She is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice from the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Beyond her primary role, Ms. Veico contributes to the Diamond Board’s strategic outreach as a member of the Marketing, Public Relations, and Branding Committee. In this capacity, she serves as a liaison between the Advertising Agency and the Committee, providing technical support to ensure sound stakeholder relations and engagement.

Ms. Veico’s diverse professional background and commitment to promoting effective communication and governance significantly enhance the Diamond Board of Namibia’s operational efficiency and stakeholder engagement.
