André Messika Diamonds distributes N$180,000 to employee-shareholders

Diamond merchant, André Messika Diamonds, this week handed over N$180,000 to its Employees Share Participation Trust.

The company, which specializes in polished diamonds under one carat, employs approximately 71 people and is noted as the country’s largest employer of people with disabilities and hearing impairments.

The distribution was announced by Director Marc Friedman, who highlighted the challenges the global diamond industry has faced in 2025.

Despite these difficulties, Friedman said the company chose to honor its employees, whom he described as “owners” and “family”.

“Through the dedication of our shareholders, every diamond that leaves our factory tells a story,” he said. “It is a story of authentic craftsmanship and human artistry, shining proof that our strength lies in people.”

The announcement was met with joy, with management extending congratulations to all employees for building a successful business and a lasting legacy based on pride and ownership.

“Serving as a trustee for our Shareholders Participation Trust has been a privilege. What moves me is seeing the change in our people. Their commitment is no longer just about the work they do; it’s about the pride of ownership. They come to work not simply as employees, but as owners of this company. That sense of belonging, loyalty and ambition is deeply inspiring and gives great hope for the future,” trustee Josph Kunyenga concluded.

The company has been in operation since 2007 and has grown into a leader in the responsible luxury market.
