Mr Kombadayedu Kapwanga graduated with Masters Degree in Geology and Mining Engineering from Moscow and a Degree in Industrial Management Sciences, which he gained in London. He worked for Rio Tinto in the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe and Namibia before being appointed as the first Namibian Director of Mines in 1990. In 1995 he joined Namibian Minerals Corporation (Namco) and in 2003 was appointed as the Director of the Sakawe Mining Corporation (Samicor) and Managing Director of LLD Diamonds Namibia. He is currently the Director of Samicor and its subsidiaries, which includes LL Namibia Phosphates and the President of the Chamber of Mines Namibia.
